Arguably his most popular work, George Frideric Handel's oratorio ‘Messiah’ was first performed #onthisday in 1742, at The Great Music Hall in Dublin, Ireland (premiered almost a year later in London). Rubén Dubrovsky led the Salzburger Bachchor and Bach Consort Wien in this mesmerising performance at the 2016 Salzburg Easter Concert, which also features soloists Hanna Herfurtner, Gaia Petrone, Michael Schade and Christian Immler, bass-baritone.
